Drumline Confessions

Congrats to all the graduates, by the way!

I wish you all well in the scary world.
Your drums/cymbals/pit equipment will miss you.

Drumline Confession #226

I’m quitting pit for marching band next year, along with one other person and the seniors. This leaves only one freshman mallet player returning and 6 mallet spots to fill. I know I should probably feel bad, but I don’t.

Drumline Confession #225

I’m beyond pissed. All our snares this year quit, just like last year. At least last best tenor player, cymbal player and bass player are coming back.

Those three were the reason we were even going to enter WGI.

Anonymous asked: why haven't i seen my submission? :c

I don’t know. I don’t have any submissions right now. re-submit and it will be posted.

Drumline Confession #224

Everyone thinks I’m too hard on everyone and that I’m a complete bitch. I yell because they screw around at inappropriate times. They don’t realize I’d do anything and everything for them and I’m actually a loving person. It just pisses me off that we’re so close to the top but won’t make it because of some people.

Drumline Confession #222

I’ve been in band just over a year, joining second semester freshman year and now about to end my sophmore year, and I’m now on the snareline. I also auditioned for Squad Leader (drumline captain), and got it. I’m just afraid that, since I’m still new, that I shouldn’t be where I am.

Drumline Confession #221

They replaced last season’s lieutenant by me because she was emotionally hurt by everything. Now, I feel like she’s going to get back at me for taking her spot (which is not my fault, by the way). She’s going to be a senior and me, a junior. I’m scared.

Drumline Confession #220

I fell in love with a cymbal player this season. He and I rode next to each other to and from every competition after we started talking. We shared music, shared thoughts, talked about some of our darkest secrets together. It all seemed to come so easy, like we’d been friends since birth. In two short months we’ve grown extremely close.
It’s torn me apart, having to choose between him and my boyfriend of a year.

Drumline Confession #219

Although it’s completely out of my way, I am still going to march in my line next season. Why not save my gas? Because I don’t trust the only other vet in my section to be section leader. The sad part is that he thinks he will do well but has never proven himself, and other people agree but won’t tell him. I have to be section leader over him.
